My name is Laila Attique and I am 15 years old.
I have a unique opportunity to go to Kenya and to be part of a real and authentic experience that will help me to challenge my view of the world and enable me to understand the day to day challenges that local communities in Kenya face.
I will be working with a great team that help transform communities and support them in overcoming issues they face such as clean water,education and housing.
For me personally, it will help me to develop key life skills, and appreciate cultural understanding and to be able to make a significant impact on the life's of the Kenyan people.
I have set myself a goal to raise a total of £4000 that will be used towards the expedition to Kenya
During my time in Kenya, I will be helping to construct housing using local materials for some of the poorer and less fortunate people in the communities.
I will also contribute to the installation of new water facilities and for people who are unable to access clean drinking water.
I will be helping the local children by building new classroom facilities so that they are able to gain an education in a safe and secure environment
In order for the families to be able to achieve a sustainable livelihood, I will help them make elephant poo paper and flip flop keyrings, which the local people can sell to support the micro-enterprises
