Little children LOVE music… it makes sense, especially when they find communication difficult.
Music therapy is a unique experience for the child. Waiting, being loud, sharing, listening and learning to play with others – these are all things music therapy can help with. It’s especially valuable when a child is finding life difficult and works with individuals or with small groups of children, according to their needs.
Lanterns in Winchester, is an integrated nursery for early years’ children – including those with special needs. Funding for music therapy is not provided, but it is recognised as enhancing the specialist approaches available at the Nursery and improving each child’s educational and social prospects.
