    Story

my family and i were succesful in Queensferry Crossing ballot to be 1 of 50000 lucky enough to walk over the newly built bridge on 2nd September before it officially opens to vehicles. My 2 year old daughter (yes you read right a toddler doing a walk) and i will be walking the bridge to raise money for Special Olympics Tayside. I have volunteered with Special Olympics for 10 years in the UK and New Zealand, it has given me so many opportunites professionally as well as life long friendships and memories. we would love to contribute so that Special Olympics Tayside can continue providing life changing opportunities.

Special Olympics Tayside is a registered charity dedicated to helping people with a learning disability in Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross areas, achieve their sporting potential through ongoing training and participation in local, regional, national, European and World games.

Special Olympics transforms lives through the joy of sport, every day, everywhere. Special Olympics are the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities: with more than 4.9 million athletes in 1729 countries -- and over a million volunteers.

Special Olympic activity relies heavily on volunteers, fundraising, the good will of family, friends and the general public.

everyone who engages with the special olympic movement has an unforgettable experience whether an athletes, unified partner or volunteer. Life long friendships are an essential part of the special olympic movenent. Without the special olympic National, european and world games Tayside athletes would not experience these life changing moments.

The queensferry crossing is looking good, went across the Forth Road Bridge today and saw the new bridge in the passing. It's the biggest one of its kind in the world. It looked great last night with the light show.....we can't wait

My nephew (Richard Nicoll) was lucky enough to be selected for Tayside and came home with 3 medals. It is a charity that doesn't get public funding and relys on fundraising. Enjoy the walk
