A group of Royal Mail Posties from Lockerbie Delivery office are taking part in a fundraising event consisting of climbing the 3 highest peaks in Dumfries & Galloway (The Queensberry, Criffel & The Merrick) on the 14th May to raise funds for local girl 14yr old Kelsey Palmer.

Kelsey was born at only 28 weeks in the Queen Mothers Hospital Glasgow, weighing not much more than a bag of sugar, where her mum spent 9 weeks due to her waters breaking at just 19 weeks, she was advised to terminate the pregnancy but refused profusely.

Kelsey suffered a brain haemorrhage during labour and because of this she has severe Cerebral palsy, Hydrocephalus (which required her to have a VP Shunt inserted into her brain) she is profoundly deaf & is paraplegic, Kelsey also suffers from Epilepsy.
Kelsey has had many operations & needs 24 hour care & has also defied all medical staff throughout her life.

Kelsey has well outgrown her specialist P Pod chair that she really needs to help her with her posture, comfort & most importantly safety within her home.
There is other equipment that Kelsey could really benefit from to give her a better & more comfortable life but her family feel they are being penalised with lack of funding for any equipment that she needs because of the fact her dad is a working man.

As Local posties we want to support this family by raising as much as we can & getting this little girl who deserves the best quality of life all the specialist equipment she needs to live in as much comfort & safety as possible.
