Where to start...Oldham Hockey Club is a team I have played for for around ten years. Within this time i have made some of the best friends i will ever have, improved my fitness and lifestyle, been to enough socials to last a life time (and drank enough to last a life time), received copias amounts of trophies and medals, qualified as an umpire, been a coach, a captain and probably/definitely a pain in the ass on the pitch! Playing for Oldham is something that sits close to my heart and I will always be a proud member.

Unfortunately very recently we were victims of some fraudulent bank activity and had over £3000 stolen from us! :( .This is a massive chunk of club funds gone which we NEED to pay for pitches, equipment, umpires, coaches etc!

So I sat and thought..what can i do?

I dont just want people to give us money...I want to do something for it! Something that will be a challenge for me...

You’d think as a hockey player i like to run...and that is true...if i have hold of a stick and a ball.... but any other time no!

So I have decided to embark on a little challenge. I am aiming to run and cycle 100 miles (each) before the end of the season (which is the end of march- god bless my knees).

So...i am begging you for the sake of my Hockey Club and my knees 😂 to please donate to this worthy cause! I’m gunna need some motivation so every little helps!

My first miles will be totted from 6th January onwards and i will keep a blog of each run and cycle. I will also have people keeping a close eye on me! (oh and if anyone fancies getting involved..you’ll find me in the gym, on a hockey field...or sat in a corner shaking somewhere)
