I'm going to Laos in the coming summer to volunteer. I will be helping the local community, including a woman who runs a nursery for over 100 children solely off her own back, with the help of external funds, like mine. I will also be volunteering at an elephant sanctuary, taking care of the elephants, in particular the baby orphaned elephants, to ensure their survival into adulthood and the continuation of their species. As well as enabling me to stay in Laos and volunteer, the money will go directly to the elephant sanctuary, the local community, and the nursery, to help them stay afloat.
