My college have given me an opportunity to take part in an expedition and community project called Camp Cambodia for 4 weeks in summer 2018, run by an organisation called camps international. Not only is it a chance for me to gain another qualification towards my university application but it will also be a once in a life time trip to work with the local community and help improve their lives. While in Cambodia I'll be helping the community by building schools, school desks, housing or clean water facilities to improve their lives. I'll also been teaching the local children English and going on a 4 day jungle trip with sleeping in hammocks overnight! This trip will give me the chance to experience life without the things me and you take for granted, for example a hot shower, running electricity all day plus many more. In order to take take part in this trip I need to fundraise £3790!! 42% of which goes towards investing in local economies and communities. I've spent a lot of time thinking and planing ways to spend the next 18 months raising the funds which I have to pay off monthly. Some of the things I'm going to do are hold an event, carry out lots of cake sales, do some car boot sales and the list is growing. With the support of my college and lots of hard work, including working extra hours, I hope I can make this possible. You're donation will mean a lot to the charity and to me as well as it will make in impact on their lives massively but also mine as well! It doesn't have to be a lot but every penny will help me on my life changing journey!!
