This upcoming summer (July 2018), as part of my Civil and Structural Engineering Master’s degree at Newcastle University, I will be travelling to Tanzania with Raleigh International to design and build a water and sanitation system within a rural area of the country. This voluntary work will help improve the access of water sources for many people within Tanzania.

Almost half of the 55 million population of Tanzania do not have access to clean water, whilst 66% of the population do not have access to an improved sanitation. The work we will undertake will be focused on providing clean water and sanitation throughout the rural community. As this amazing opportunity offers many communities the provision of clean water and sanitation, the work I do will help assist the operations, construction and speed of the project to support those who need access to water most in Tanzania.

I am aiming to raise £1,700 towards the cost of this expedition. All donations made will contribute towards the supply of materials, equipment and support needed to construct the water supply within the villages.

Any donations made, no matter how big or small, will be highly appreciated.
