    Story

Where do you start writing about a genuinely lovely, big hearted and sincere young man. One who is well loved and is going to be deeply mIssed. Laurens always had a smile on his face, a friendly word for those he met and a deep love and respect for his family and friends. Well known around Rutland, with his sweet smile, mass of curls and more recently big bushy beard!!

At 24 years of age Laurens life has been tragically cut short. Whilst travelling around Thailand he was knocked off his moped by a truck and sustained massive injuries. Despite the efforts of the medical team, Laurens lost his fight and died on Thursday 23rd November 2017.

We are hoping you will be able to support and help the Wells family to bring him home. Financial support is desperately need to pay for medical bills incurred and to bring Laurens home. Your support will be gratefully appreciated.

Our hearts are breaking, but we want to help ensure that all is done for Him. Laurens never flinched at helping others, lets help him now. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please share

They have declined to meet his medical costs, the hospital went to great efforts caring for Laurens and the family would be grateful to use some of this fund, so generously given for that purpose. This will enable them to provide care for others in the future. Any remaining funds we would very like to go to a charity, that deals with the treatment of head injuries. I am sure you will all appreciate there has been much to tackle in recent days, but subsequently hope to meet as many of you as possible when he is returned. Simon Wells.

To all the wonderful people who have contributed, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for your great generosity and moving messages for my cherished son Laurens! This is an appalling tragedy which has completely changed our lives and I know that we will always mourn the huge character that he was. I’m not sure that this is something myself or his family will ever completely reconcile ourselves with. I would like to provide clarification, the insurance company have agreed to repatriate Laurens and bring him home soon.
