On monday 4th june 2018 two men knocked on my nan and grandads door on meadow lane in chaddesden derby stating they needed urgent repairs to their property. They said they were working on next door and they had found stuctual damage to their joint chimney and it was leaking into the neighbours loft space . They were very convincing and knew my nans neighbours names and other details (we dont know how they obtained those details) they waved at my nans neighbour while discussing the work with my nan which led her to believe her neighbour knew the “work men”. They went onto her roof and did “work” for about half an hour, when they came down they requested payment for the “non” work carried out in which my nan paid him £400. My nan then nipped out and they used this to their advantage and knocked again and told my grandad his wife had told them to knock for payment, my grandad then paid them again but more than original!! These con artist did nothing to My nans roof or the neighbours roof other than put piles of sand on the roof!!

My nan is 84 my grandad 88, they both served for their country my grandad the navy my nan in the wrens. They have been married 63 years and worked hard all their lives my grandad worked for british rail and my nan worked in our childrens hospital a job she loved dearly. Two years ago my nan fell down the stairs and broke her neck its took her 2 years to recover and has just built her confidence up to got out and about alone and these scumbags think they can take what they want for free!! They live a humble life and make do with what they‘ve got. I Would love to raise enough for them to get a bit back and put their pride and trust back into the community 💙💕
