Just over two years ago is when Alfie’s life changed forever, after a prolonged seizure in the early hours of the morning his Mum Stephanie called her family to come and be with them. None of his family knew what Alfie’s future would be but the first diagnosis he got was a short term illness that he would recover from. By December they soon realised that was not the case when he was not progressing as he should. To this day they still have no diagnosis and sadly they don’t know what Alfie’s future holds for him. This has been the hardest thing they have ever had to deal with, but with the support of their friends and family they are still going and they’ve learnt it’s ok not to be ok all the time. Alfie‘s Mum will go above and beyond for her son and I will do as much fundraising to help get the support and equipment he needs to let him have a happy, comfortable life with his little brother! Alfie is a warrior and he has a smile that would light up any room and he is an inspiration for me and if you ever get the chance to meet him you would see how much of a fighter he is.

On the 3rd of February 2019 I have entered the Cancer Research UK London Winter 10k Run. Although this is not a long distance for me it marks a massive milestone for me after battling a mental illness myself this year and have been in and out of three mental health units, I recieved support from so many people I want to return this and help Alfie and his family continue to move forwards and raise money for equipment he needs now and in the future, thank you 💚
