The Challenge!

Myself and a group of friends, that i have somehow talked in to doing this with me, are taking on the welsh 3 peaks challenge on the 10th march 2018! This involes climbing 3 mountains, first one being Pen Y Fan, then we move onto Cadair Idris, and the big one Snowdon, all in 24 hours!!

The Reason

A good friend, neighbor, husband and most importantly father, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. It all started last march, when out of the blue Andy had a seizure, this was originally put down to a possibility of epilepsy, a few weeks later he had a second seizure. From this Andy was sent for a MRI scan, which came back all clear, great news we all thought! Then over the following weeks he developed further symtoms. This then led to a second more in depth MRI, to everyones disbeleif and sadness this one came back with the terrible news.... Andy had a brain tumour, not one where an operation may help, but with the news, it was a grade 4 gbm, also known as the terminator, as it is terminal. In august they then received the news he only had 14 months left to live. I remember getting a message from his wife that day and feeling sick to my stomach! Leading upto christmas Andy has undergone intensive chemothreapy, he has remained positive all the way and tried to carry on as normal. When the day comes, Andy will be leaving behind, his wife Sarah, his sons, luke 23, Jack 14, and his daughter, kate 10. Andy is a top man, the kind that will help anyone out if he could, i have lost track of the times ive knocked his door for a lift, a spanner, a hand with something, the kind of neighbor we all need!

The Goal

I would like to raise enough money to send the family on holiday. So they can continue to make memories that all the family can treasure for the rest of there lives. Sometimes to get away from the run of day to day life can be the best medicine for all!
