    Story

The Leeds Women’s Health charitable campaign, part of the new Charitable Foundation, was started in 2017 by a midwife, a doctor, and a manager.

Our aims in founding the charitable campaign were to:
    • Celebrate the achievements of staff working in Leeds Women’s Clinical Service Unit
    • Support staff development
    • Enable the purchase of state of the art clinical equipment
    • Raise funds to make the environment in which we deliver our services as fantastic as the staff who give care in them
    • Develop and support networks for patients

Women’s Clinical Service Unit (CSU) is a group of clinical departments within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, operating from four hospitals (Seacroft, Wharfedale, St James’s and Leeds General Infirmary) and the community, made up of:
    • Leeds Maternity Care, providing obstetric and midwifery care to over 10,000 women and their families each year
    • Leeds Centre for Women’s Health, giving gynaecology and urogynaecology care and treatment to over 12,000 women annually
    • Leeds Fertility, undertaking nearly 1500 fertility cycles each year and providing the widest range of fertility treatments in the north of England

We are so proud of everything our staff achieve for the women of Leeds, and we hope you will join with us in making all of our ambitions a reality through this new charity!
