    Story

We realise that many people have bigger causes to raise money for however we need any help that can be offered. I met my partner three years ago. He lived alone with his 2 children who are 14 and 11 now as he won full custody of them through the courts 10 years ago. His father had passed away just before the court case and social services wanted him to own his own house before they gave him full custody of the children. His mother was in the process of moving into this house herself however she gave the deeds over to my partner in order for him to have the kids. The house was 2 bedrooms and the kids, who are the opposite sex, were sleeping in the same room however we saved enough money to build a wall through the larger bedroom in order for them to have seperate rooms. The house began to fall apart after a flood and we hadn't been able to afford house insurance so had to attempt to fix the damage ourselves. The ceiling then fell through in the kitchen which has remained like that for the past 2 years. At the beginning of last year, I decided to change jobs. I was offered a new role, quit my other job and then found out I was pregnant. The new job then took away their offer of employment and my old job would not take me back. It was simply poor timing and the pregnancy was a complete surprise. We were then relying on one wage and benefits. Our little boy is now 8 months old, he doesn't have a room to go into and cannot share with his older brother as he has emotional difficulties and suffers with extreme night terrors. We have knot weed on the land around the house which means we are unable to put it up for sale through estate agents unless we pay around £5000 for a company to come up and carry out a course whereby they spray the knot weed over a period of 2 to 3 years and we then get a certificate to say we can put the house up for sale. We could try cash buyers however the house is in such a poor state that nobody wants the house. We have £22,000 to pay off on the mortgage and an estate agent has said the house is only worth £30,000 without the knot weed. We are truly stuck, cannot afford any repairs and cannot afford to move at all. We have tried every possible avenue but we have no options without the money to fix the problems. Because my partner owns this house, we are entitled to no help. The house is a two up, two down, we are on top of each other and we have no room for the babies toys. My partner is a support worker and works very long hours however it is a minimum wage job and we just have no money leftover at the end of the month. The house has no central heating, old and poor electrics that trip 4/5 times a day, damp on all walls, walls that are falling apart, cracks through all ceilings and is very, very cold in the winter. We'd be so grateful for any type of help. It would go towards moving house or simply making this house more comfortable. Thank you for reading my long story.
