Story
The landscaping around the WW1 memorial is unkempt and unappreciated. To be ready for the commemoration of the end of World War 1 in November, removal of old vegetation and new planting is necessary. The memorial lists over 60 names of young men from the local area who gave their lives for their country.
The physical labour will be freely given by volunteers, but we need funds for the purchase of new plants.
Please help us to preserve the memory of these gallant soldiers & sailors.
For full details of the men, go to www.stjamespokesdown.co.uk, go to "links" , then WW1 Memorial Cross, then Roll of Honour. Click on a name for further information.

6 years agoThe memorial cross has been vandalised. We are now faced with a repair bill of over £2500 to restore the cross before our November 11th service. I am eternally grateful for all your help so far, so please encourage everyone you know to share this page. Thank you so much Tony Allen
