Story
ONE MAN. ONE MISSION. ONE RECTUM.
The exciting story of one man's adventures with Stage Two Rectal Cancer in the Scottish Highlands. Yeah sure, £10K may seem a lot but aim high and expect nothing.
UPDATE: Operation will be a Lower Anterior Resection, with stoma (colostomy) bag on Conor's hop for 3-6 months. 90% of success and return to regular bowel function. Operation will take place mid-Oct/early Nov.
Follow Conor O'Hara's Another Bloody Cancer Blog on YouTube for a background to his tale, going through diagnosis, radiotherapy & chemotherapy, singing songs about his tumour called TREVOR, and musing about life, cancer, the universe and finding replacement styluses for his record player.

7 years agoGreetings from Recovery Central. Just a wee update to let you know I had my operation on 7th Nov and thanks to the colorectal team at NHS Raigmore it was TOTAL SUCCESS, with no spread of cancer to surrounding areas. Best case outcome, I-and-I survive. Trevor R.I.P. I'm recuperating at home in Inverness, generally laying low and getting better every day, wearing my temporary stoma bag (weird weird weird!), and continuing with part-time counselling studies. Wishing you a peaceful Christmas/Yule season, and thanks again for your kind support. Cxx

7 years agoWell folks and kind supporters. The hour is nigh and I've my lower anterior section later today, Tuesday 7 November. Trevor, it's time to sever. The collective name for all my temporary stoma bags is Boris. Boris Johnson. Ought to give one a smile every day. It's the small things.
