Hello my name is Leyla,                                    I have been given an amazing opportunity to take part in an exchange visit to Uganda (just about the furthest I’ve ever been). I’ll be visiting rural Masindi secondary school, a school that my secondary school has been linked to for a long time, the trip taking place every year since.              Masindi, in the western region of Uganda is 220 kilometres away from Uganda’s capital, Kampala. Masindi has a population around 95,000 and about a 3 hours’ drive from Kampala. Because Uganda is such a different country to Britain, it should be very fascinating in that era unlike the places I’ve visited. We also hope with enough money to bring back a student and teacher from Uganda to our school otherwise it wouldn’t really be an exchange trip.                   We will be going throughout the February half term so quite soon and get back before school starts unfortunately. We are not just going to visit the school to teach a lesson or try their food, living their everyday life, but take a boat trip down the Nile and a trip to the safari park. So, I’m going to create a video throughout the trip to show everyone at my school    afterwards.                   In order to raise the total amount of £1500 I will cycle Bristol to bath and back, a sponsored long walk like one of the previous ambassadors and run throughout my area. Any money I earn will go to this exchange. I will also be hosting a staff and parent quiz night, and intending to car wash, and bag pack in supermarkets.
