Story
Bristol Rugby Referee Society chairman, Steve Leyshon (pictured), is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise funds for the newly-established charity that BRRS launched at its Annual Dinner in May. The charity will support people in the local rugby community hit by adversity and already raised a fantastic sum of money at the dinner,... but it wants to raise more for local people. So, Steve has dusted down his hiking boots, brushed off his ruck sack and packed his thermals as he takes on Africa's highest mountain. The Bristol whistle-blower is sure to find this challenge tougher than some of the matches he's overseen over the years, and your support will be greatly appreciated by Steve and everyone at BRRS. Thank you!
The initiative by Steve, not only to undertake climbing the highest mountain in Africa, yet at the same time, raise monies for this noble charitable cause deserves all our support. I sincerely trust the Bristol rugby family will donate generously, so monies raised can assist local rugby individuals, who through no fault of their own, fall on troublesome times." Ed Morrison - President, BRRS
It's going to be a huge challenge, i'm not quite sure what i have let myself in for... but we have high hopes for the charity and the ways it can help support local people involved with local rugby". Steve Leyshon: Bristol Post (20th July 2018)
