The Leytonstone Itch has been running since the summer of 2015, providing a free platform for artists to share and develop new work in a supportive environment. Our event is described as a 'scratch like no other', a uniquely diverse night of high-quality theatre, music, comedy and writing.

Funding cuts to public services and the arts are now commonplace, and most of the time artists are expected to work for free. The Leytonstone Itch believes in paying people for their work. However, as an entirely voluntary organisation we don't have adequate resources to do this. Our event is free and our organizers work on an entirely voluntary basis.

More importantly, so do our artists.

We have been collecting donations at Itch events and have currently raised £145 towards an Artist Development Fund. This is a fund that will support a Leytonstone Itch Artist to develop a new piece of work in whatever way they wish - from rehearsal space to workshops, childcare costs, marketing, & even monetary support that provides the breathing space to finish a piece of work.

We are currently accepting applications and rest assured will choose an excellent recipient for this fund. We will keep raising as much as we can, but your help is invaluable and would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't have to be much - every little helps.
