I graduate in July, and I have been passionately thinking about setting up my own touring Theatre In Education company. (TIE) this will tour secondary schools / academy's across Leicestershire and Rutland. But I need help! :)

focus for year 1: Bullying (sexuality)
For years on end generations of children have faced horrific bullying, resulting in children remaining silent, and not feeling they have a voice within society which unfortunately in some cases, has lead to suicide.

Whether it be through cyber bullying, or physical violence, the notion of sexuality, and transgender life choices have found to be the first point of call on a bullies agenda.

Although we live in a century where the LGBTQ organisation provides a safe community for those wishing to explore their sexuality, or gender, sadly it does not solve the bigotry, and homophobic remarks that still plague our schools.

Our performance from the company for the first year will be to spread the message, that it is the BULLYING that is not "acceptable" NOT the individuals life choices.

We will demonstrate through performance, that whether you're gay, straight, bisexual, a sexual, pan sexual, love is JUST love, we are all made up of the same atoms, the same organs. In the 21st century it's socially, politically and morally acceptable to express this.

We also aim to show that gender is performative. A male may dress like a woman and therefor BE a woman should he seek happiness by doing so. And viceversa for a woman, thus, society should not sneer at this.

The funds raised will begin to help the company build a multipurpose set and get lighting. it will also aid the company to well establish themselves with a website etc.

As funds for the arts are cut left right and centre, it's important to me that the next generation are not only informed (and hopefully inspired) of truly important issues, but are introduced to the effectiveness of "theatre in education"
