What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Our drive and motivation stems from really wanting to make a difference and help others to achieve their potential. So we decided last year that our New Years resolution would be to learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. So we decided that we would both sign up to run a half and a full marathon in Liverpool on 20th May. But instead of raising money for a charity we decided that we wanted to do these challenges to help us to raise money that we could use to initiate projects that we want to set up that we believe will really make a difference and help others. So we are asking for you to support us in helping us to raise money for us to help kickstart our start up mentoring service which aims to support young people to take care of their mental health and wellbeing.

The money that we hope to raise would go towards being able to fund the training of mentors as well as supporting young people who may not be able to access the service due to financial implications. Lifestyle Choice Mentoring Service aims to help young people develop a sense of self in terms of helping them to build their self esteem and confidence in order to help them to understand how best to fuel their mind and body to achieve their potential and support their health and wellbeing. We want to bridge the gap between health and performance and reduce the rate of mental illness by equipping young people with tools to help build resilience.

Having carried out research on the benefits of mentoring for individuals on the autism spectrum, working as an assistant psychologist, an accredited health coach and a performance athlete, as well as having battled with my own mental health, as founder of Lifestyle Choice I know that this service has the potential to make a massive difference to the lives of young people in Jersey, so it would mean so much for as many people as possible to be able to make this dream a reality.

We understand the importance of support in helping anyone to achieve anything so that’s why together as brother and sister we have come together to support each other to achieve our goals. As the old saying goes if you want to go fast go alone but if you want to go far and really make a difference then join together!

This is just the first of many challenges for us in the hope that we can inspire others to go out of their comfort zone, and realise that you are capable of more than you often think you are!

Here's a bit more information to give you a better idea about what we hope to achieve with Lifestyle Choice Mentoring Service:

- To provide a 1-to-1 mentoring service

- To deliver Accredited mentoring training

- To deliver Group programs to help promote health and wellbeing

- Training specifically related to the Psychology of Wellbeing and being able to help individual to develop an efficient toolbox to fuel their mind and body to achieve their potential.
