    Story

This story is unusual. Liga came into my life and into the life of my daughters very suddenly but I felt I was prepared for her. She fell into my arms right from the heaven and I had this feeling I was saving her.

7 months later when she was forcibly removed from me by her guardian auntie, I found out why I had the feeling.

After she went back to her guardian auntie I found out from auntie's friend what Liga had gone through previously. It was physical and emotional abuse.

When she arrived to stay with me she had bruises, scratches and bites which her auntie explained as self-harm and play fight injuries. Self-harm could be the case in people or children with high anxiety levels, that's true.

But having all the information from the aunt's friend now - photos and video and her statement (which is going to the court), comparing to what can be found on the internet about the child abuse, it all clicks together.

And even if I can't prove the abuse itself, the fact that the child was forcibly removed from my care says it all. You can't just change your mind if the agreement has been made. The child is not a thing. The child was having stability and happy life and family. Family assessment approves that. Children institution in Latvia have evidence of that.

It all was taken away from the child in a split second. The child who never had a real and loving family. Liga spent the first two years of her life in a children care home in Latvia. In an abusive environment where her needs were neglected.

Oh, if you could see how she flourished while she was in my home! She thrived! She had so much attention! She was respected and loved. She was cherished! As she deserves only and exclusively the best! She is incredible! Being born prematurely to alcoholic parents she had gone through a lot. But she survived. And she needs to be in a better place now! She is a fighter and my inspiration! Hang in there, girl!

Her auntie didn't care about her while the child was with me. She just left her with me. She never came to see her. I had to initiate family visits when we could come and see the auntie at the comfort of her home which was 4-5 hours drive for us. On her terms and her timings. But even when we visited her, she was not showing any interest in the child. The auntie wouldn't understand if the child would ask her certain foods or things. As she hasn't been in contact with the child. She was not interested.

The auntie was happy about the freedom she was now having. Her relationship with her partner had improved. Her children didn't have to be jealous anymore. They all could sleep better at night as Liga was not there. They all seemed to be back to normal - happy family without the problem child that Liga to them once was.

As for now, I'm going to courts to retrieve Liga back, it takes a lot of efforts, time and money. My solicitor charges 300 (day charge)+90 (travel) pounds per court. Plus advise on the phone, plus travel for me, plus lost profits from my business. As I'm working full time now to help Liga get back to her family, -- to us.

We are on the third court hearing which is on Monday, 19th March in Derby. I'm asking the court for Parental Rights and Child Arrangement Order. I'm planning to adopt Liga as soon as possible. But that is another step and a separate case as that would need to be done in Latvia.

Please let me express my gratitude to you for reading this, -- my blessings to you, my friend. Please hug your loved ones. And together seek to help those in need. Challenges are there to help us to be stronger. And we are stronger in unity.

Please help if you can by supporting us money-wise and please keep us in your prayers. I appreciate your love and good thoughts.

    Yours forever,

    Ineta and the girls
