Story
We are walking Coast to Coast across England in Autumn 2017 to raise funds to buy sensory lights for our darling nephew Thomas who, at the age of 7, suffered a severe brain injury caused by encephalitis. Thomas was not expected to survive but, against all the odds he pulled through although he now needs 24 hour care. He is such a brave chap and he still has many hurdles to overcome and many health issues to face but he is a fighter and has confounded the medics at every stage. He will need ongoing surgery in the future and has to visit hospital and consultants in London on a regular basis.
We want to raise £1,000 to buy Thomas some sensory lighting to go in his bedroom. He loves bright and colourful lights and these will help his interactive and sensory skills thus enhancing his enjoyment and quality of life. Any funds left over after we have purchased the lights will be donated to The Children's Trust to thank them for their loving and dedicated care which they gave Thomas when he was first discharged from hospital.
We love Thomas very much and want to help him in any way we can and we know that these lights will make a big difference to his life.
