Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
The Muni Arts Centre is a popular music and theatre venue in Pontypridd. As well as the well-used 310 seat theatre, it also houses a cafe and a 70 seater auditorium called The Gallery. The Muni, as its well known, was saved from closure following a community campaign in 2014. Wales' much-loved Max Boyce said at the time "It is a terrible, terrible shame. It's not just a theatre, it's a focal point for people to share their dreams, share their escapism." Fortunately, the people saved the centre and it is now a busy and vibrant centre. The 'Light up the Muni' fundraiser has been created to raise funding of £2200 to complete essential and important electrical work in the Gallery so it can be used more, and so we can see the gothic window alight once again.
"When you take away somewhere like the Muni, something in that town dies." - Max Boyce.
