Hello human,

I'm the white dog in the photo above. I can't even look you in the eye, I'm too terrified and distressed. I don't have a name because nobody cared enough about me to give me one. I was born on the streets of a small town in Romania about 3 years ago and I have been living on my own ever since. A few weeks ago, some guys brought me to this shelter on the town’s outskirts. I share this place with around 120 other dogs.

Since I moved in here, I have made some nice friends but I've also seen a few of them dying. I don't know why. Many of us were never given a bath or seen by a vet.

The local council decided to build us a shelter at the end of May - just days before the local elections were scheduled to take place - but it's September already and I haven't seen anyone coming here to do any work...We're sleeping on the pavement and we're surrounded by metal fence. I really don't know why they rushed to lock us in here.

The truth is that most of us are scared because we might not make it through the cold season. When we were free, we used to take shelter inside residential buildings or sleep next to a hot pipe that kept us warm during winter. We desperately need some wooden houses because temperatures often drop below 0 degrees Celsius during winter and left in these conditions, some of us might die. We would be very grateful if you could help us survive. Please.

Your donation will make a difference for us. It will help my pals and I survive. But there are hundreds of thousands of stray dogs in Romania. Our misery will not come to an end anytime soon because we have been turned into a profitable business. I think we should be neutered or spayed but some people think they can solve the problem by killing us.
