My name is Lily Davis , I am currently studying Children’s Nursing at London South Bank University, and I am in the process of raising funds for my four week elective placement in June 2018. I have chosen to carry out my placement in Arequipa, Peru.

With the help of ‘Work the World’, who are a reputable organisation set out to assist in organising work placements abroad for healthcare students, offering food, accommodation, and 24/7 support.

I hope to raise enough funds to progress my knowledge and learning, and hope to bring about a small but positive change.

This placement will give me a chance to learn more about a different healthcare environment and patient conditions, whilst working in a low-resource hospital, getting first hand experience of a very different clinical setting to that in the UK. I see this as a major opportunity to really progress my development, along with making a difference in a community unlike my own.

I hope to raise as much as possible to help towards the costs of my trip.

I will be working in a hospital that caters to Adult, Paediatric, Mother and Newborn, Cancer and other diseases. This will help me gain experience working with issues like HIV, Tuberculosis, and have the opportunity to work in the biggest oncology department in southern Peru.
