Hi Folks, at the end of last year I was asked by a dear friend and former work colleague if I would be interested in helping her out with an idea she had.

When I heard what she had in mind, I knew I wanted to be on board as it was something that I myself, and probably many of you reading this have thought of doing before too, but didn't quite know how to get the ball rolling, so didn't take it any further than a thought...

Well, because of Diane, Debbie, Lynette and myself have taken it further than a thought and are well on our way to organising it, and making it happen.

This Christmas we are going to feed and entertain around 50 local people who would otherwise be alone or lonely on Christmas Day

Its a chance to bring people together on a day that holds different emotions for us all.

We are going to cook and serve a 3 course meal, along with crackers, party hats and all the festive frills, as well as putting on some entertainment for everyone.

Refreshments of tea, coffee and soft drinks along with the usual Christmas fayre (mince pies, cake, sweets) will be available throughout the day and each person attending shall leave with a wee goodie bag.

What we are really aiming for is that each person leaves with a big smile and a happy heart, having spent the day having fun and enjoying the company of others...and maybe even making new friends.
