It's not too late to raise some money for the development of children with Down syndrome in Albania. These children need our help to raise awareness, acceptance and support in the society. I will be running a half marathon on the 8th of October in support of Jonathan Centre Albania.

Jonathan Centre aims to support the development of children with Down syndrome by offering support to their families in achieving the best for their children. They also aim to raise awareness among Albanians and advocate for the rights of persons with Down syndrome, so that society opens the doors for full inclusion of persons with Down syndrome.

Jonathan Center was founded in 2008 by relatives and friends of Jonathan’s family. Jonathan is 13 years old today. While he and over 60 kids with Down Syndrome have received support in the past years, there is still so much to be done in terms of expanding the services to children and young adults with Down Syndrome and their families so that they might grow toward independent living. Parents need help in assisting their children to grow and learn through intervention therapies provided by the Jonathan Center. They need guidance in advocating for their child in a society that shuns them.

Their aim is to continue early intervention and increase the support with life skills courses and reach out to more children and families across the country. Jonathan Centre relies almost entirely on voluntary donations to generate their income. They need our help to raise much needed funds for their programmes.
