    Story

Max is a quiet and sensitive teenager with a maturity beyond his years. He enjoys online gaming, watching You Tube, and he has a wicked sense of humour! He loves pizza and fried chicken but he won’t touch mushrooms or spicy food! Max loves dogs and puppies. He is currently battling Ewings Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, for the second time in 12 months.

Max was first diagnosed in October 2016 with 9 tumours and underwent 56 chemotherapy sessions, 14 radiotherapy sessions and abdominal surgery at the Manchester Children’s Hospital. Max was absent from school for most of year 10.

In September 2017 Max and his family received the most wonderful news. He was cancer free and later that month was well enough to begin his return to year 11, his final year at school. Max’s time at school was increased gradually as his strength and resilience grew. He started to become a typical year 11 pupil, focusing on forthcoming revision, GCSE exams and the excitement and anticipation of the end of year prom.

In October 2017, Max began to feel unwell again and by early November the devastating news was confirmed- the cancer had returned.

Max no longer attends school. He no longer faces the stress of forthcoming revision and GCSE exams or the excitement and anticipation of the end of year prom. With tenacity and courage, Max is once again undergoing chemotherapy treatment. He is facing a very uncertain future.

Max misses going to school. He misses spending time with his friends and hates being away from his family during treatment. He worries about the impact that his illness has on his mum Gill, dad Pete, brothers Josh, Jake and Sam and sister Chloe. They are a kind and caring family who have always done anything they could to help others; they all go that extra mile. They are respectful and hardworking and they are desperate for this treatment to work for Max.

With your help, we would love to raise enough money to get Max a puppy of his own; a four-legged friend that he can love, cherish and care for. Something that will give him a purpose. It would also be amazing if he and his family had the opportunity to experience some adventures; special days out so that lasting memories could be made. It would be wonderful if he could experience the awe and wonder of a hot air balloon trip or the thrill and excitement of a racing track day.

Please support us to raise this money for Max. The smallest donation will be so gratefully appreciated. Please share this page with as many others as you can. Thank you for your support and for helping to make a difference.
