My sister Christina was taken into hospital on the 15th of September, with what all have family thought "a bad chest infection". She has been very ill with a chest infection and no voice since the end of June. Within 3 days of being in hospital she was later in critical care on life support machines. We was all told that christinas lungs were badly damaged and that she wasnt gas exchanging properly: the doctors told us they didnt think she would make it. Her lungs were not strong enough to do the job and her body wouldnt to be able to cope of the ventilators. Christina spent 2 weeks on the ventilators and magically was later taken of with a tracheomsty fitted instead. However, later on finding out that the problem laid within her throat; she has sever tumours in many places.

Since being reduced from her coma my sister has had it very hard. She has had a trachestomy fitted and has had to learn how to breath, eat and physically walk again. She has recently just gone through her find round of chemo which aims to shrink her tumours but not completly take them away. She has 5 more rounds to go through which is going to be alot for herself and family.

She has been home the space of 2 days after a long 9 weeks in hospital and is now back in with pnemonia.

We are just trying to do alittle bit of raising to help put Christinas mind at ease for her children at christmas time. Her 3 children have made it very clear that gifts and money mean nothing right now, having there mum here means the most.
