The Tanzania Link also known as Cumbria Rungwe Community Link is a local charity responsible for joining West Cumbria and a region of Tanzania called Rungwe. In the summer of 2018 my son Nathan and other students will embark on an outward trip to Tanzania for a month, requiring each student to fundraise to be able to go. Whilst they are in Tanzania they will embrace the culture; a vastly different way of life than what they are used to. In addition to this, one of the projects they will be involved in is making toys for a very poor school, especially for disabled children in particular, for example kids that are blind, as they spend all day just reading braille. Another influence they will have will be their contribution to helping improve the schools in the area, for example helping to make structural improvements, making furniture, as they are limited, and providing school equipment they bring from the UK. This is a big help in Rungwe, and allows local people to experience the benefits of helping people. They fundraise all-year round for lots of projects for the schools and comunity and will get to see how all their hardwork makes a difference, and embark on a life changing journey.
