Weʼre raising £10,000 to rebuild the Southern Bastion of the Littlehampton Fort. This Bastion is the main Bastion seen from the broadwalk on West Beach.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Littlehampton Fort was the very first Palmerston Fort built in 1854, the prototype for the perceived potential invasion from the France.

Over the years the Fort has fallen into disrepair, damage and slowly being consumed by vegetation and sand. In 2011 the Littlehampton Fort Restoration Project was launched (www.littlehamptonfort.co.uk ), and in 2015 an agreement was forged between the project and the Littlehampton Golf Club, and work commenced on saving this important historical land mark.
The Fort needs repairs to bring a stop to further deterioration and potential loss of this hidden gem for Littlehampton and so your help is required.
The money will fund works to;
1) Reconstruct/Repair the Eastern Bastion, a part of the Fort visible to walkers close by on the broad walk.
2) Pay for the replacement bricks required to undertake the works above and the required skilled workman to conduct the works in line with Historic England's guidance.
Due to the status of the Fort, a scheduled monument with Historic England. The majority of the repairs will need to undertaken by approved contractors with Historic England, although we have a good number of volunteers, who are all willing to assist with the work where they can.
Please help us save this very important part of our history with your kind donations. Anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated.
