I'm Ayla. I'm running the Greater Manchester 10k next week and want to raise some money to help my friend Molly volunteer in India for two months this summer. I know I don't have much time to raise these funds but every penny counts and even just a small amount to contribute to the costs of the trip would be greatly appreciated!

I'll let Molly write a bit about what she's doing now:

Through a programme called Live-in-labs I have been lucky enough be chosen to take part in a volunteer project in India. While out there I will be able to use knowledge learnt through my degree to make a difference for those in rural villages in India. I will be either working in Karnataka to help test and develop a prototype of a solar panel powered Arecanut leaf press machine, that can be used to to produce tableware. This will be used as a sustainable alternative to plastic and a valuable source of income for those in the village. Alternatively, I may be heading to Wayanad, helping with the prototype of a hybrid system that is used to distil lemongrass and help produce high quality Lemongrass essential oil. This is again a product which can be either used by the villages or sold on for income. During my time there I will be saying at nearby hostels and in the villages itself, being hands on with project. Overall, I hope to make a big impact on people in poor tribal villages, to help improve their socio-economic situation.
