As the MP for Heywood & Middleton, I’ve seen the growing problem of homelessness in our Borough and across Greater Manchester and I want to do something to help. My first Manchester 10K was in 2009 when I raised funds for Haematology Research at Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust. Since then I’ve tried to run the 10K every year to raise money for charity.

This year my chosen Charity is the Petrus Community. They’re a registered charity (Charity Number 510904) and have been providing supported housing and services to homeless people since 1972. They do this throughout the Borough of Rochdale as well as in Oldham and Rossendale. You can find more information about their work at www.petrus.org.uk

All donations will go directly to Petrus to help them continue their vital work. All I’ve got to do is run 10K on May 20th and I’m relying on your generosity to help tackle the problem of homelessness in our Borough. So please dig deep, all donations gratefully received however large or small.
