As many of you know, my dear friend Laura Jefferies sadly passed away in November after an incredible battle with cancer. I’m sure anyone who had the privilege of knowing her will agree that Laura was an amazing person who not only lit up the world with her zest for life and a constant smile but inspired so many to fight for happiness and for love.

She is so very missed by all of her friends and especially her family, all of whom long to steal just a few more moments in her company. Laura is laid to rest in Colerne church yard and we would all cherish a place to sit and pass the time with her. A place to quietly be with Laura.

This page has been set up with the hope of raising enough money to buy a beautiful wooden bench to put close to her grave for all to use when visiting Laura or other loved ones laid to rest around her.

We have set ourselves some fundraising challenges that Laura would be so proud of. Her niece Darcey, alongside my daughter Ena and close friend Fleur , have set themselves a 5k challenge of running two laps of the village. I will be running the virtual Bath Half Marathon and have been rigorously training in the cold wind and rain with Laura’s beloved sister Emma, who may even run herself on the day to support us all!

I know so many of us have wanted to pay our respects to Laura and her family but due to Covid, attending the funeral wasn’t possible. This is something family, friends and the wider Colerne community could enjoy for years and is a fitting tribute in Laura’s memory.

I'm ever mindful of this hard times but if you could spare any sponsership I would be so grateful. Anything additional we raise will be donated to Laura’s chosen charity.

We will all start at the same time on Sunday 14th March at 10am following all social distancing rules.
