    Story

Having recently completed dementia training and becoming a dementia champion at work (I work as a Therapy Technician at Peterborough City Hospital, within the orthopaedic wards) , I felt inspired to raise money to make the hospital stay for patients with a dementia diagnosis a little easier.

Simple things such as blue plates, bowls and cups can make a huge difference (vision can be affected by dementia). Big things like chairs and tables to make a lounge area on the wards, can also make a difference too. Reminiscence resources can be very helpful in assisting to calm the patient in unfamiliar surroundings.

I just want to make a difference for these people and their families
So this is what I'm going to do with my good friend Claire. It's going to difficult, but its only one weekend.

On 9th September 2017 myself and my friend Claire along with more than 3,000 challengers will take on the main Thames Path Challenge following England's greatest river - most will be walking, many will jog, some will be running, and all will have a special reason to push themselves. Our full 100km route heads upstream from Putney Bridge past Hampton Court to Runnymede of Magna Carta fame at 50km, then on past wonderful scenery all the way to Henley. - Please note I will not be running or jogging!!!

Thank you for your support, it's very much appreciated!

Thank you so much to all who have donated so far I'm overwhelmed. I'm hoping to be able to raise enough to purchase some chairs which are £750 per pair.
