The Fire Brigade do an extremely hard job, this was particularly evident during the unfortunate and devastating fire, at Grenfell Tower. It was visible to all that our Firemen and women go beyond the call of duty, putting their lives at risk, to help save others.

This 'just-giving' crowd fund is set up to purchase three food hampers to reflect the local Muslim community's solidarity, appreciation and support of our firefighters based at three of our local fire stations - Whitechapel, Shoreditch and Shadwell. This is part of a London wide initiative (an idea initiated by a group of muslimahs) which is to cover all the Fire Stations in London.

One food hamper will be delivered to each of our chosen Fire stations, in recognition of their arduous work at the frontline; a gesture to thank the London Fire Brigade for their remarkable efforts at Grenfell Tower and in general. We hope to show that we, as a Muslim community, very much value all that our firefighters have done and continue to do for the whole community.

All three food hampers will be delivered with a smile and a card containing the following message:

"Thank you for all you did, we know you tried your absolute best.
The Quran says 'and whoever saves a life, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind' (Sura al-Ma'idah 5:32).

Everything you have done, and continue to do is recognised and valued sincerely. We hope you enjoy our small token of gratitude to you.
