Myself and my hubby Paul are taking part in the Great North Run 2018 which is on the 9th September. We are raising money for Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group who help and support people affected by cancer. The group helps patients, carers and relatives in Newton Aycliffe, they also help members from all over the North East such as Bishop Auckland, Shildon, Spennymoor, Chilton, Ferryhill, Barnard Castle and many more areas. As well as having monthly meetings the group supports and takes them on social outings, for many people getting a cancer diagnosis can make them become isolated and lose their friends. They take them for meals so if they are on their own and don't have anyone to cook them a hot meal the group makes sure they do. Also on the trips it lets the members talk to each other as well as making friends. As some of you may know we lost our cousin Garry Hart to this horrible illness and our other cousin Allison White,who is Chair Person for this amazing charity is now in remission from Leukemia.
