In October 2017 my beloved 2 year old grandaughter Lilly was diagnosed with Liver cancer . Since this initial diagnosis she has undergone major surgery and aggressive chemotherapy. Treatment is ongoing as she is now battling secondary cancer all this at a time when she should be enjoying childhood and carefree. However as you can see she is a real warrier battling through each and every treatment with courage and a ready smile. The treatments leave Lillys immune system very weakened and unable to fight infection this has meant that it is not possible for Lilly to attend preschool due to risk of infection. I am undertaking a sponsered 18 mile tandem bike ride with a family friend in order to raise funds for Lilly to be used to provide garden play equipment so she can enjoy time in her garden . The date for the challenge is Tuesday 22nd May 2018 and takes place in Deal Kent 18 mile coastal circuit on a tandem . As i have not excercised in last 4 years is not going to be a walk in park for me but is nothing compared to the challenges faced by my beautiful grandaughter everyday.
