KAYAKS is a Saturday afternoon activity group for children with additional needs. Based in South Tyneside but open to every family in the North East it is based at Mortimer Community Centre between 1 and 4pm every Saturday.

We felt however there was a great need for a support service specifically for parents and carers and so KOPE was born in May this year.

Based around the idea that you can't pour from an empty cup, we aim to offer support, advice, therapy, exercise classes and friendship.

Your child need not have a diagnosis for you to access either KOPE or KAYAKS and you can live anywhere in the North East. Our doors are open to all families with SEN whatever your postcode 😊

All money raised from this event will go towards funding exercise classes to help our parents and carers of children with SEN put their health and wellbeing first for a change. If we don't look after ourselves who will look after our children?
