Story
Following a recent trip to Fuerteventura, I became aware of the plight of many abandoned and homeless cats such as Fluffy (pictured), living in and around holiday complexes in the town of Corralejo.
These beautiful, gentle boys and girls, travel the area looking for water, a little food and a lot of fuss. Rainfall is very low and the cats struggle to find any fresh drinking water. They are driven to drinking from chlorinated pools which can lead to kidney failure.
A wonderful but very busy lady, Lynne, has cared for the homeless cats for many years but she does so voluntarily, seven days a week, unsupported by any animal charities.
Any money raised will help towards providing food and water and veterinary care for sick and injured cats. Money will also be used to support a much needed neutering program to try and reduce future unwanted litters.

4 years agoThank you so very much to all that have and continue to support Lynne, to care for the homeless cats in Corralejo. Thanks to your generosity we have reached the target of £1,500. You are all amazing! As this is an ongoing problem we have decided to keep the page going and increase the goal to £2,500 to help support Lynne's ambition to continue to offer food and water, urgent and ongoing veterinary care and a neutering programme for all the beautiful homeless cats in the area. Lynne sends her love and gratitude to you all xxx

6 years agoThank you all so much for your kind donations. Fluffy has now been stabilised on medication as she was found to have a heart condition. She has been taken in by a very kind couple and is now finding her way around their home and is coping well despite remaining blind. Two cats Molly and Dottie have now joined me in England and are very settled 😻
