Story
The children of Halstead have been enjoying the current playground for nearly 30 years. Situated at the back of the recreation ground, it's used daily by our youngsters to burn off energy and give their parents some much needed time out. The past year has shown just how important open space and active play is for our children and playgrounds always have been key in ensuring that there is always a safe and enjoyable place to enjoy.
But, our play area is starting to fall apart. You can see the signs of wear and tear on all the equipment. And, whilst this is still safe, it shows its time for an upgrade.
A number of residents are in the process of setting up a community group which will take the lead in shaping the project and fundraising for a new play area. All donations will be passed to that group once initiated.

A path to the play equipment would be ideal too! That way it could be an all weather playground; currently with a buggy it's only possible to get there if the grass isn't too wet or boggy.
