We have had 4 amazing people volunteering to do a fund raiser The Lossie 2-3 group. On the 7th of July Emily Stewart, Rhianne Thomas, Stewart Fraser and Garry Burgess( who has set up his own just giving page) will be doing an abseil down Grampian furniture’s Lossiemouth.
The Lossie 2-3 group is a playgroup for 2-3-year olds based in Lossiemouth Community centre. It was taken over by myself on January 2015 and the ethos of the group is to offer low cost play groups to low income working families and for children to be able socially interact and build friendship's with children of their own age . This also reduces social inclusion to a number of children within the community. It is not only children that build up friendship's but a number of the parents have found new friendship's which continue outwith the group since joining the Lossie 2-3 group
We are a non-profit making group that does not receive any funding from another sources. We rely fully on fundraising to help the running costs of the group, pay for staff training and for equipment for the toddlers.
We found out at the start of the year that when the new high school and community centre is built in 2020 there will no longer be a space for the 2-3 group to run from there. The 2-3 has ran from the community centre for 28years and has always been in high demand throughout the years and will be more on demand due to the number in childcare hours rising in Scotland.
I am currently looking for adequate premises for the group to run from so there fore this is also costing a small fortune on architect drawings and plans to see if the space is ample for such a group. The 2-3 group is such an important group within the community please help us to save it by donating anything spare you have.
