Story
My girls are sick , their kidneys are failing them and there isn't the a cure to repair them it came on suddenly and unexpected.
They are going to need dialysis, to find a donor and have a transplant.
While we are waiting for this they both need dialysis and our nearest unit and specialist hospital is over two hours away, the girls are two of triplets and they also have two smaller brothers.
We do not have space for them both to have this treatment at home as our house simply isn't big enough, the best option would be to buy a bigger house nearer to a main specialist hospital so we have room at home and can all be together when their admitted but that's not viable so we need to extend the house, convert the loft to give us the space for the treatment and to store all of the medical equipment and accessories.
Having the dialysis at home means that all the children would be able to carry on an as normal as possible life with having the treatment every night else on top of the additional hospital visits when they get an infection or just a cold we would end up having to travel for 5 hours three times a week and not be able to send the girls to school, they will be away from their siblings and with me and my husband having to divide ourselves to make sure all the children's needs are met our family would be torn apart.
It's heartbreaking enough that not only do we have to watch one of our children go through this but we have to go through it with two.
When we are out of hospital with one we are admitted with the other and recently don't seem to have been at home much at all.
Nothing can stop this process or make it go away but having the space at home and funds to be able to stay together when they are in hospital would be the next best thing for us to try and be as normal as we possibly can. The girls are 4 and their brothers being 2 and 4 months and as a family we are being impacted so severely just for a lack of space and funds to be able to be a family.
