Before I became a guide I had very low self-esteem and I was very shy. Guiding gave me the space and opportunity to develop, grow and speak out through some of the programs they do like Free Being Me, Stop The Violence and many others. I want to help empower these deprived, and poor rural women and how guiding can empower them, through our training on baking , making of liquid soap, hair pomade, bead works etc things that will give them economic empowerment.
CSW is an opportunity for me to advocate for girls and young women all over the world. It is a privilege to represent 10 million voices, be part of decision makers, empower myself and make sure that no one is left behind.
I’m excited to be going to the United Nations for the Commission on the Status of Women this year as WAGGGS delegate coordinator for the Communications working group. I am motivated to attend CSW62 because I am passionate about empowering girls and young women especially those in the rural communities and having worked with girls from Anyaman (a rural community in Ghana ) I believe in empowering girls to realize their rights as people who can become leaders and anyone they set their minds to.
