£250raised of £200 target by 8 supporters

Weʼve raised £250 to help fund gardening supplies

    Emersons Green, Bristol, UK
Funded on Sunday, 25th November 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    We're fundraising for:

    1. An extra-long hose to help with watering

With the recent drought and distance from the Community Centre building, a water butt isn't a viable option (and it would take hours this way!) We will need to water these planters using an extra-long 100m hose pipe with spray gun.

    2. More compost to improve the soil

The soil the Council put in the planters does not hold water well, and is very low in nutrients. We've added a bit of compost to each planter, but we need to dig in much more organic matter.

    3. Other equipment to help us carry on doing fab gardening things like this!

    Our Story:

On Saturday 28th July, Lyde Green residents donated plants, compost and their spare time to plant up our new planters on School Square. We think the planters look amazing - even if we do say so ourselves!!

However, Lyde Green Open Space are a brand new group, and we have absolutely no funds or resources yet. We need help to keep the planters looking wonderful! While we're working on getting longer-term sponsorship for each planter, this takes a long time.

Can't donate? Local? Have some time to spare? We need some help to keep them watered and looking great - please sign up to our volunteer watering rota here.

Thank you also to Elmwood Nurseries who donated a few plants, and to Liverty Housing Association who donated some gardening vouchers (which we used to buy some plants).
