Story
Having a baby should be a happy and joyous occasion, imagine if your child was born and within a couple of hours was diagnosed with a life threatening congenital heart defect requiring immediate transfer to Alder Hey children's hospital for lifesaving heart open surgery.
Sadly this happens more often than you would think, the last thing on a parents mind when this happens is remembering to have the right baby toiletries with them.
Imagine how you would feel if your baby had to have it's first bath in just warm water, because you didn't have any baby wash with you
The staff on the children's cardiac ward at Alder Hey do an amazing job caring for children of all ages with congenital heart defects, but there are certain basic things that they need in order to do their job properly, and these are things that the NHS does not provide!!
Over the last few years I have supported this very special ward & the staff that work in it by collecting much needed toiletries.
Items such as Baby shampoo, baby wash, children's toothbrushes & toothpaste, hair brushes & hair bobbles, shower gels & shampoo are all things that the nurses need, and having them to hand makes the life of the children & parents on the ward that bit easier.
Please, please help me to continue this work and supply the ward with what they need by making a donation. It does matter how big or small your donation is, the smallest amount really does make a difference.
I can buy x6 bottles of baby shampoo & bath wash for under £5, so you can see that it doesn't cost the earth to make someone's day a little easier.
The parents and children on this ward face some very tough times indeed, not needing to think about having the right toiletries is just one less worry!
My heartfelt thanks in advance to you for your help and for caring enough to make a donation.
