Story
Ellie was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in February 2016.
Rett Syndrom is a neurological or brain disorder and affects 1 in every 10,000 girls.
It affects apparently healthy little girls around the age of 6-18 months. They experience loss of speech and hand use and may even go on to loose their mobility and develop severe health problems.
In Ellie's case, she only has around 5-6 words that she can say. At the moment she can still use her hands to eat, however she can't draw, use cutlery or play games that require hand movements.
Ellie struggles daily to communicate and although her mum and dad have worked out her unique way of communicating for most things, she struggles daily with not being able to tell anyone else.
There has already been the most amazing amount of fund raising being done for this worthy cause, some for Ellie herself and some for Reverse Retts the wonderful charity working tirelessly towards a cure.
There are now many pieces of technology and equiptment available that will help to make Ellie's life easier and more enjoyable.
Please help me help Ellie by sponsoring me in the London Triathlon.
