In response to the yearnings of the people, the Rivers state government has imported mills to accelerate the production of palm oil in order to create Job opportunities and encourage legal wealth acquisition.
The Erema Palm Oil project is an economic interventionist program meant for the rapid development of the people and entrepreneurs of the state.
Rivers State is one of the states in the Niger-Delta geopolitical Zones of Nigeria, which has a comparative advantage of establishing Oil Palm projects at commercial scale.
This initiative will encourage youths to go into farming to grow more palm trees; hence a wealth creation chain is established. In short, a sustainable development lifestyle will be introduced in the community.
The capacity of the mill which is 700kg/hr suggests a small scale but money spinning project. This is an existing project that needs economic support to get it up and running. Hence about 360,000 litres of palm oil could be produced per annum. The mill (plant) from the capacity utilization, could produce about 1,500 litres of fresh palm oil daily.
Once in operation, the project would provide sustainable jobs and more to youths from the community and beyond in the areas of farming, distribution, marketing of products.
We are very optimistic that this opportunity will reduce the youth restlessness and create a healthy economic atmosphere.
There will be opportunities to earn money to meet the basic needs of food, shelter and clothing in the community.
