Story
I'm a french native, living in Scotland for 7 years.
I've travelled and lived in different countries, but have never felt so welcomed as I have been since living in Benarty.
I love the community spirit and the hard work people do to give our community it's chance.
My passion has always been to cycle, not just for cycling but for travelling;
The sense of freedom and accomplishment it gives is unique !
I've started cycling in 2001 and done several cycling trips:
- From France to the Baltic States
- Tour of Scotland
- From France to Armenia
- Tour of Ireland
I still got my main cycling project , my big dream to realise : to cycle from France to the Baikal lake in Russia.
In the past, the purpose of my cycling trips was as well to realise documentaries:The first one was about the Baltic states entering in the EU then the Armenian genocide etc...
Now after a break of a couples of years, I've started cycling again and I decided to do it for charities; so last year I've done a 300 miles trip in Scotland to raise money for Cancer Research.
So this year , I've got this aim of raising as much as I can and I need your help !
The money raised will go to
BENARTY FUNDRAISERS
How can I describe how much I love Benarty ?
It's mining past is still present, you can still feel it, it's not a touristic place and I've never seen lots of tourists here :-)
It's not either the nice wee villages of Fife along the coast, but its the Scotland I love, the true one, raw and unique with it's scars of the past, with it's strong accent that I still struggle to understand :-)
The Benarty fundraisers volunteers do an amazing work and spend Lots time for our community.
So I ask you to share this page and donate ! even £1 can make a difference , for the good of our community and all the volunteers behind it .
During the month of April 2018 I will cycle from Ballingry to John O'Groats and back
So it's not going to be an holiday :-) even if I love it I know how hard it can be , especially in Scotland with the wind and rain , I'm going to cycle around 600 miles hopefully in about 8/10 days, with my bags and my tent , wild camping on the road.
I ask you to support me and the best way you can do it it's just to make a donation.
Thank you so much for your support and help.
Regards;
Magali Christie.
